Negro Cato otherwise called Cato Blake is five feet 8½ inches high black
complexion and is now about fifty years of age and has a scar on the right
side of face just under the ear                              J Redue Clk

Filed and recorded on the 4th day of October 1850 and a certificate of freedom
issued to the said negro man Cato Blake

To the Clerk of Kent County Court
                                  I hereby certify that A Negro man called Richard otherwise
called Richard Hyland and sometimes Richard Paca who is now present and applying
for a certificate of Freedom is free and was born free and raised in
Kent County said Richard is about twenty years old about five feet four and
a quarter inches high and has one small scar on the forehead and another on the

and a certificate of freedom issued to the said negro man Richard Hyland

                               I hereby certify that Hannah Gleaves formerly Hannah Posey
a negro woman who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom
is the identical negro woman who was manumitted and set free by Eben
Posey Alfred Posey Elizabeth Posey and Ellen Posey by Deed of manumission
bearing date on the third day of April in the year EIghteen hundred and
fifty and recorded in Liber J. N. G. No 4 pages 285 and 286 one of the record
books of Kent County and that the said Hannah Gleaves was raised in
Kent County and that the said Hannah Gleaves was raised in
Kent County      said Hannah Gleaves is about thirty two years old is about
five feet high is of a darkish complexion and has three small scars or
marks on the left arm just above the wrist
