37 issued to each of the said negroes Marshall James Jones and Mary Jane Jones By Jos Redue Clk of Kt Co Cot Md To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a negro man called George Hackett of a light complexion about five feet nine inches high and now about thirty one years old is the identical negro who was manumitted by Rachel Walmsley and afterwards was owned by Samuel G. Osborn both late of Kent County deceaced and that the said negro man George Hackett was raised in Kent County John McDaniel July 31st/50 said George Hackett has no particular mark or scar Jos Redue Clk Filed and recorded on the 31st day of July 1850 and a certificate of freedom issued to the said Negro George Hackett By Jos Redue Clk of Ket Co Cot Md Note the foregoing certificate of freedom to George Hackett has been issued in Lieu of one granted to him by Jos N. Gordon Esq late Clerk of Kent County and which had been mutilated by mice and nearly destroyed and which said mutilated certificate is filed with the abovementioned certificate of John McDaniel Joseph Redue Clk Kt Co Cot Md Chestertown Kent County Maryland To the Clerk of Kent County Court This is to certify that Charles Berryman free negro who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the son of Felix Berryman and Mary Berryman who were both free and that the said Charles Berryman was free born and raised in Kent County aforesaid Charles is now about twenty eight years old is of a dark complexion and is about five feet seven and a quarter inches high and has a slight scar on the thumb of the right hand Witness my hand this 7th day of August 1850 Avrilla Collins Filed and recorded on the 7th day of August 1850 and a certificate of freedom issued to the said Negro Charles Berryman By Jos Redue Clk Kt Co Cot Md To the Clerk of Kent County Court This is to certify that Stephen Hatcheson who is now present |
