    To the Clerk of Kent County Court
                            I hereby certify that Stephen Scott a negro man
now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical
negro called Stephen mentioned in a Deed of Manumission from my
father Josiah Massey dated on the seventh day of January Eighteen
hundred and twenty five and that he was raised in Kent County
       As witness my hand this twenty sixth day of March Eighteen hundred
and fifty                                                   Josiah Massey
       Said negro man Stephen Scott is about twenty seven years old about
five feet ten and an half inches high and is of a light complexion with
a small scar a little below the elbow joint on the inside of the right arm

Filed and recorded on the 26th day of March 1850 and a certificate
of freedom issued to the said negro Stephen Scott

    To the Clk of Kent County Court
                         This is to Certify that Benjamin Comegys who
is now present & applying for a certificate of freedom was
free born and raised in Kent County and is now about Twenty
five years of age               witness my hand this 26th March 1850
                                                                John T Skirven
Ben is five feet 8 inches high   Black Complexion a small scar
near the right eye                                          Jos Redue Clk
Filed 26th March 1850 and recorded and a certificate of freedom
issued to the said negro man Benjamin Comegys

    To the Clerk of Kent County Court
                                  I hereby certify that James Moore a negro man
now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is free having
been manumitted by James K Nichols by a deed of Manumission
dated the first day of April 1850 and duly filed and recorded in
the office of the Clerk of Kent County Court   Witness my hand this 26th
of April 1850                                                   Richard Hynson
James Moore (negro man) is about five feet and ten ¾ inches high
Black complexion aged about thirty eight years and has a scar in the
corner of his left eye                                      Richard Hynson
Filed and recorded on the 26th day of April 1850 and a certificate of freedom
