Filed and Recorded August 1st 1849 and certificate of issued as
follows

       Maryland Kent County To wit:
                   Pursuant to the directions of an act of the
general assembly of the State of Maryland passed
at November session eighteen hundred and five I hereby
certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern
that it has this day been proven by testimony satisfactory
to me that a certain Alexander Riley the
bearer hereof was born of a free woman and that
he was raised in the said County and brought up
to farming the said Negro is five feet seven and one
quarter inches in height between twenty one and
twenty two years of age of a dark complexion
and has a scar on his left hand above the
first joint of the thumb
                                       In testimony whereof I hereunto
   (  seal of             )         subscribe my name and affix the
   (Kent County     )         seal of Kent County Court at Chestertown
   (Court Maryland)         the first day of August in the year Eighteen
                                           hundred and forty nine  Joseph Redue Clk
                                                                         of Kent County Court
                         Issued and recorded on the 1st of August 1849

To the Clerk of Kent County Court
             I hereby certify that Arianna Bordley the bearer
hereof is the daughter of Hester Bordley who was
left free by the will of Mr Robert Waters late of
Queen Anns County  and that the said Arianna
was born after the said Hester obtained her
freedom   The said Arianna is now about 30
years of age                     Henrietta J. Barroll
                                            August 17th 1849

    Filed and recorded August 17th 1849 and certificate of
freedom issued as follows
