28 John Henry Wilmer is 5 feet 7¼ inches high of Dark complexion (no scars) Jos Redue Clk Filed and recorded on the 11th day of February 1850 and certificate of freedom issued as follows Maryland Kent County sct: I Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved by testimony which is satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof a negro man named John Henry Wilmer aged about Twenty three years five feet seven & ¼ inches high of a dark complexion was born free and raised in Kent County ( seal of ) In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name (Kent County ) and affix the seal of Kent County Court this eleventh (Court Maryland) day of February in the year eighteen hundred and fifty Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court Maryland Issued and recorded on the 11th day of February 1850 By Joseph Redue Clerk To the Clerk of Kent County Court This is to certify that a mulatto woman called Mary Freeman now present & applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical person mentioned in a Deed of Manumission executed on the 27th day of Dec 1849 by Miss Lavinia Hanson and filed in the Clerks office of Kent County Court J. F. Gordon February 25th 1850 Mary is about 28 years of age very light complexion 5 feet & a half inch high & has a small scar on the left eye lid Joseph Redue Clk K. C.
