No pages 192 and 193 Wm Camp 14th Sept 1849 Filed and recorded September 14th 1849 and certificate of freedom issued as follows Maryland Kent County to wit I Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it appears by the records of Kent County aforesaid that Hynson Smith Elizabeth Smith and Martha H. Griffith all of the said County by their certain deed of Manumission bearing date on the eighth day of october in the year Eighteen hundred and forty eight did manumit, liberate, set free and discharge from slavery a negro woman named Hannah Ringgold about forty years of age I further certify that a negro woman not present (the bearer hereof) called and known by the name of Hannah Ringgold aged about forty one years five feet three and a quarter inches high with a small scar on the forehead and of a dark complexion has proved by testimony which is satisfactory to me that she is the identical person mentioned and described by the name of Hannah Ringgold in the deed of Manumission above referred to and that she was raised in Kent County In testimony whereof I hereto ( seal of subscribe my name and affix the (Kent County seal of Kent County Court this fourteenth (Court Maryland) day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court State of Maryland Issued and recorded on the 14th of September 1849 By Joseph Redue Clerk |
