November Court
1735 97 of the said Child and of and from all other suits Charges troubles & demands whatsoever touching or Concerning of the same &.a
of May in the Year of Our Lord God One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five at the parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid in and upon a Certain Isaac More in the peace of God and of the Same Lord Proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and the Said Isaac More then and there did beat wound and Evilly treat so that of his life it was greatly despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damage of the same Isaac More and against the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good rule and Government &a Test Isaac More On the backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed Billa Vera p Jos.a Caldwell foreman thereupon Command was Given to the Sherriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the said William Mister if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards to witt the Eighteenth day of November anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the Same County Came the aforesaid William Mister in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his Security before acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment aforesaid who says that he is not Guilty thereof and of this he putts himselfe upon the Country and William Goldsborough Gent who for his said Lordship in that part Followeth Likewise Whereupon the Said William Mister present herein Court in his proper person relinquisheth his verification aforesaid by him above alledged and Submitts with protestation of his Innocency and because he will not Contend with his said Lordship he putts himselfe upon the favour of the Court &a whereupon all and Singular the premises being seen and by the Court fully understood It is Considered that the aforesaid William Mister pay unto his Lordship the right honourable the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the trespass and assault aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid he is Convict two shillings and six pence Curr.t mony of Maryland and that the said William Mister be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd Whereupon the said William Mister is ordered to give Security for the payment of the severall Officers their Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid Thereupon Richard Knight of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper person undertook for the said Will.m Mister and acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord propry in five pounds Ster |
