97 seven hundred and thirty five Came hereinto Court a Certain John Handy of Somerset County Gent in his proper person and saith that he is willing to pay thirty Shillings Current money of Maryland for the said Stephen Langcake for his fine by Occasion of the premisses af.d &.a Whereupon all and singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood and Mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid Stephen Langcake pay unto his Lordship the right honourable the Lord proprietary for his fine by the Court hereupon ^him^ Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses af.d whereof in form af.d he is Convict thirty Shillings Current money of Maryland for the use of the County af.d and that the said Stephen Langcake be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &.a Whereupon the said Stephen Langcake is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses af.d upon the Indictment af.d thereupon a Certain John Handy of Somerset County Gentleman present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himself Indebted to his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of five pounds sterling of his body goods or Chattells lands or tenements to be made and levied to the use of the Officers of Somerset County Court that hath any right to any Fees upon the Indictment af.d &.a Likewise the said Stephen Langcake is ordered to give good security to save and keep Endempnified the Justices of Somerset County Court and their Successors for the time being from all Costs Charges burthens and troubles that might accrew by means of the birth &.a of the bastard Child lately begot on the body of the af.d Elizabeth Johnson &a Thereupon a Certain George Lank of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper person undertook for the said Stephen Langcake and acknowledged himself Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of thirty pounds Sterling of his goods and Chattells lands and tenements severally to be made and levied to the use of Somerset County if it happen that the aforesaid Stephen Langcake his heirs Executors and Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times forever hereafter acquitt discharge and save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset County Court and their Successors (for the time being) as also the Inhabitants of the same County from all Costs Charges and troubles whatsoever for or by reason of the birth maintainance nourishing and bringing up (of |
