1735 94 One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in the same County came the said Mary Riggin in her proper person according to a Certain recognizance by her and her Security in that part first acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment af.d and being Instantly demanded how she would acquit her self of the premisses af.d above by the Indictment upon her Imposed says that of the premisses aforesaid above upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof and is willing to pay her fine for the fact aforesaid Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid Mary Riggin pay unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord proprietary for her fine by the Court hereupon ^her^ Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid she is Convict thirty Shillings Current money of Maryland for the use of the County aforesaid and that the said Mary Riggin be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine aforesaid &.a Whereupon the said Mary Riggin is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses af.d upon the Indictment af.d thereupon a Certain Darby Riggin Sen.r of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himself indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of five pounds Sterling of his body goods or Chattells lands or tenements to be made and levied to the use of the Officers ^their^ Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid upon the said Indictment aforesaid &a
of this Court did commit fornication with a Certain Mary Peirce and of her body then and there had carnal knowledge and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Mary then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such Case Offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case lately made and provided &.a Test Mary Peirce On the backside of the foregoing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed Viz.t Billa Vera Sam.ll Willson |
