November Court
1735 (94) Imposed says that of the premisses aforesaid above upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof and is willing to pay her fine for the fact aforesaid Whereupon all and singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid Mary Peirce pay unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord proprietary for her fine by the Court hereupon Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereofore in form aforesaid she is Convict thirty Shillings Current money of Maryland for the use of the County aforesaid and that the said Mary Peirce be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &.a Whereupon the said Mary Peirce is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses af.d upon the Indictment af.d thereupon a Certain Robert Auston of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himself indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of five pounds Sterling of his body goods or Chattells lands or tenements to be made and levied to the use of the officers of Somerset County Court that hath any right to any Fees upon the Indictment aforesaid &.a If it happen that the said Robert Auston do not pay and satisfie unto the Severall Officers their Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid upon the Indictment aforesaid &.a
the thirtieth day of July Anno Dom Seventeen hundred thirty and five at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permit the same unknown person then and there to have carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same Mary to the hugh displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such Case offending contrary to the peace of the s.d Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case lately made and provided &a Test Cap.t John Scot On the backside of the foregoing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed Viz.t Billa Vera Sam.ll Wilson foreman Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he should take the said Mary Riggin if &a to answer &a And afterwards to witt the Eighteenth day of November Ann: Dom: (One |
