of the provinces of Maryland and Avalon
Lord Baron of Baltemore &.a  To Edward Rownd
John Scarborough Edmond Hough and Adam Spence all of Somerset
County Gent Greeting know Ye that we have appointed you or any three
or two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain
William Porter near Snowhill of the County af.d in relation to the bounds of
a tract of Land Poplar Hill Wee therefore require you or any three or
two of you at Some time and place as to you or any three or two of you
shall Seem Convenient you meet on the af.d Land called Poplar Hill (You
first having taken your Oaths on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God According
to Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided) and there Cause to come before
you or any three or two of you all Such Evidences as shall be to you or any three
or two of you Nominated by the said Complainent or def.t of any and that you
or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall Oaths to
be by you or any three or two of you Administred on the holy Evangelist
of Almighty God in the presents of the Complainent or def.t if any touching
the truth or rememberance of their knowledge or any thing that may
relate to the Cause af.d and that reduceing the Severall depositions into
writing you send the Same together with this our Commission under your
or any three or two of you hands and Seals to us to our County Court of
Somerset with all Convenient Speed Wittness Robert King Gent Chief Justice
of our said Court the twenty Second day of August in the twenty first Year of
Our Dominion &.a Ann: Dom: One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five
On the backside of the foregoing ^Commission^ it was Endorsed as Followeth Viz.t
Wee the Subscribers cretifie that by Vertue of the within Commission we
have pursued the directions of the Act of assembly in Such Case provided
and the depositions hereunto Annexed we accordingly return pursuant
to the directions thereof wittness our hands and seals

Likewise to the foregoing Commission
were annexed the following depositions Viz.t

Somerset County ss   By Vertue of a Commission to us directed to Examine
Evidences on behalf of a Certain William porters Near Snow hill of the
County aforesaid in relation to the bounds of a tract of land called poplar
Hill bearing date y.e 22.d day of August in y.e 21.st Year of our dominion
Ann Dom 1735   Wee the Subscribers caused to Come before us
Nathn.l Davis aged forty Seven or there abouts being Sworn on y.e
holy Evangelist of Almighty God do say y.t when y.e above deponant
bought Land of William Stephenson adjoyning to y.e tract of land
Called Poplar Hill and he the afores.d Stephenson told y.e deponant
y.t the white Oak Standing in a branch was y.e Corner tree dividing the
two tracts and further saith not

John Lane aged thirty Seven or there abouts being Sworn on the holy
