of our said province of Maryland this sixteenth day of July in the twenty first
Year of our Dominion &.a  Annoq Domini 1735

       Which being read and heard the aforesaid John Smith William Stoughton John Handy James
Dashiell John Scott James Martin William Lane Thomas Williams and Henry Ballard Gent pursuant
to the dedimus to them directed administred the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to
be taken to the Government with the Oath of Justice to Robert King David Wilson Edward
Rownd Charles Rackliffe George Dashiell Thomas Gillis Isaac Handy and Mitchell Dashiell of
the Same County Gent who severally take the Same and Subscribe the Oath of abjuration and test
and take their places as Followeth viz.t afterwards the same Robert King David Wilson Edward
Rownd Charles Rackliffe George Dashiell Thomas Gillis Isaac Handy and Mitchell Dashiell of the
same County Gent administred the Same Oaths unto John Smith William Stoughton John Handy
James Dashiell John Scott James Martin, William Lane Thomas WIlliams and Henry Ballard who Severally
take the Same Oaths and Subscribe the Same Oaths of abjuration and test and take their places
as Followeth viz.t

          To the worshipfull Justices of Somerset County in Court Sitting the
petition of William Bowen Humbly sheweth

That your petitioner is and has been for many years past a sickley Infirm man under a bad
state of health & hitherto without remedy or prospect of release from my
present distemper Supported Intirely by the Industry of my wife for Severall
years past which Induced me to apply to your worships the second year that
M.r Joshua Caldwell was Sher to be set levy free and then your worships was
pleased to Inform your petitioner that I was too late the levy being laid for that
year but for the time to Come I should be levy free or at least till I Recovered my
health (which I was Content with) and now so it ^is^ may it please your worships
that I have been Excus'd the last year of M.r Caldwells time and now am listed
to pay the first year of Cap.t McClesters time not having any note to Shew the
