when thereof afterward he should be required  Nevertheless the af.d Isaiah altho often
required the af.d Seven hundred pounds of tobacco unto the af.d Edmond Jennings hath
not paid but that unto him to pay altogether hath refused and and still doth refuse
to the damage of the same Edmond Seven hundred pounds of Tobacco and thereupon
bringeth suit &.cra and doth bring hereinto Court the writing obligatory af.d af.d
which the debt af.d in form af.d doth testify the date whereof is the same day and year
aforesaid &.cra                                                   Pledges &.c  John Doe Richard Roe

    And the aforesaid Isaiah Quatermus by William Goldsborough his attorney cometh and
defendeth the force and Injury when &.c and saith that he cannot Gainsay the action af.d of the
af.d Edmond nor can he say but that the writing obligatory af.d is the deed of him the same
Isaiah Quatermus nor but that he oweth the same Edmond the af.d Seven hundred pounds of
Tobacco in manner and form as the af.d Edmond above against him hath declared whereupon the
af.d Edmond prays Judgment by his debt af.d and his Costs and damages Sustained by Occasion of the
detaining of the same debt to him to be adjudged &.c

Therefore it is Considered by the Court that the af.d  Edmond Jennings recover against the af.d
Isaiah Quatermus his debt af.d and his Costs and damages Sustained by Occasion of the detaining of
199   that same debt to One hundred and Ninty Nine                                           pounds of tobacco
to the same Edmond by the Court here of his assent adjudged and the af.d Isaiah in Mercy &.c

Somerset County ss.t  William Jones late of Somerset County Miller was
attached to answer unto John Rider Esq.r of a plea of trespass upon
the Case &.c
                           And whereupon the same John by William Beckingham
his attorney complaines that whereas the aforesaid William Jones the seventh day
of October in the Year of Our Lord seventeen hundred and thirty One at Somerset County
was Indebted to the af.d John in y.e Sum of Eight pounds four shillings and Eleven pence
being for Sundry Goods wares and Merchandizes by the af.d John to the af.d W.m Jones at
his especial Instance and request there before that time sold & delivered as p a particular
account thereof herewith into Court brought may appear and so thereof being indebted
the same W.m Jones in Consideration thereof the day and year af.d at the County af.d
upon himself did assume and to the same John then & there faithfully did promise that he
the said W.m Jones the same Eight Pounds four shillings and Eleven pence to the same John
when thereof afterwards he should be required well and faithfully would pay and Content and
altho the said W.m Jones did pay and Satisfie unto the said John One pound fourteen
shillings and ten pence half penny parcell of the said Eight pounds four shillings and
