Same Samuel when thereof afterward he should be required  Nevertheless
the af.d Charles altho often required the af.d sum of Tobacco unto the af.d
Samuel hath not paid but that unto him hitherto to pay altogether
hath refused and still doth refuse to th damage of the same Samuel
two thousand pounds of like tobacco and thereupon he bringeth Suit &c
and doth bring here into Court the writing obligatory af.d which the
debt af.d in form af.d doth testify the date whereof is the same day and
year af.d &.cra                                pledges &c  Jn.o Doe & Rich.d Roe

             And the aforesaid Charles Hodgson by William Beckingham his attorney Cometh and defendeth the
force and Injury when &.a and saith that he Cannot gainsay the action aforesaid of the aforesaid Samuel Chew administrator
of the aforesaid Philemon Loyde Esq.r nor Can he say but that the writing Obligatory aforesaid is the deed of the same
Charles and that the Same Charles doth detaine the debt therein mentioned as ye afd Samuel above against him hath
declared    whereupon the Same Samuel prays Judgment for his debt and his Costs and Damages Sustained by
Occasion of the detaining of that Same debt to him to be adjudged &a

                Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Samuel Chew adm.r of Philemon Loyde Esq.r Recover
against the aforesaid Charles Hudgson his debt aforesaid and his Costs and damages Sustained by Occasion of the
detaining of the Same debt to One hundred and Ninty Nine                                                               pounds of tobacco to
199    the Same Samuel Chew of his assent by the Court here adjudged and the afd defendt in Mercy &c

otherwise called William Booth of Somerset County & province af.d
Cooper was Sumon'd to answer to Joshua Caldwell assignee according
to the form of the act of assembly in such Case lately made & provided of
John Atkinson of a plea that he render him twenty pounds Cash Maryland Currency which
to him he owes & unjustly detains &.c

And whereupon the said Joshua by Geo: Douglas his attny complains that whereas the
said William on the twenty ninth day of November Anno Domi Seventeen hundred thirty
& three at Somerset County afd by his certain writing obligatory had granted himself to be
bound unto the af.d John in the ^afd^ Sum of twenty pounds Cash Maryland Currency to be paid
to the said John when thereof afterwards required and the said Joshua further saith that the
af.d John afterwards to wit the thirtyeth day of November in the year afd at the County af.d
(the Sum af.d of Cash Maryland Currency or any part thereof in no sort paid or contented being)
by a Certain writing on the said writing obligatory made and with his proper hand Subscribed
bearing date the Same day & year last mention'd according to the form & Effect of the Act
of assembly in that Case made & provided the same writing obligatory & the Cash Maryland
Currency therein mention'd unto the said Joshua did assign whereof the said ^William^ then & there had
