money of Virginia of the value af.d to the said Ralph hath not
paid or him for the same in any sort Contented but the same to him
to pay or Content hath altogether refused and the same to the said
Ralph to pay still doth refuse altho the said five pounds Current
money of Virginia to the said Ralph to pay the said John afterwards
to witt the day and year last mentioned at the County af.d and
often since that time was required  whereupon the said Ralph
says he is damnyfied Eleven pounds Current money of Maryland
and thereof he brings suit &.c     pledges &.c  Jn.o Doe & Rich.d Roe

A Copy of the foregoing declaration was made and sent to b served on
the defendant with the writt in the plea af.d according to act of
assembly in such case made and provided &.c

Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the Eighteenth day of
the same month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred &
thirty four being the day of the return of the said Cometh the said
Ralph Corbin by George Douglas his attorney ^afd^ and the Sher of Somerset
County to whom the foregoing writt was directed (Likewise
Cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in
these words following Vizt   Cepi Corpus declaration in time

       Whereupon the said John Britt present here in Court in his proper person at the prayer of the
aforesaid Ralph Corbin by his attorney aforesaid is adjudged to give Speciall Bail to the action aforesaid

       Thereupon Came hereinto Court a Certain Thomas Billin of Somerset County marriner in his proper
person and undertook for the said John Britt and assumed upon himselfe (Likewise the said
John Britt present here in Court as aforesaid Assumed upon himselfe) that if in Case the said Ralph
Corbin should recover Judgment in the plea aforesaid against the said John Britt or that the said
John Britt should be therein Convicted that then he the said John Britt Should pay the Condemnation
of the Court thereupon or render his body in Execution of Such Judgment to the prison of the sheriffe
of Somerset County in satisfaction thereof or that he the said Thomas Billin will do the Same for
him

             And the afd John Britt by Francis Allen his attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and
Injury when &.c and whereupon the said Ralph Corbin by his attorney afd prays that the said Jn.o
Britt to his declaration afd may answer but the said John Britt altho' Solemnly Called Cometh not
nor the same attorney of the afd John for him the same John nothing thereof ^saith^ in Barr or preclusion
