317 Imposed for and by Occasion of the trespass & assault afd whereof in form aforesaid he is Convict One Shilling Currant money of Maryland and that the said William Conner be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &c
af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a certain Mary Jones of the same County in the peace of you and of the said Lord proprietary then and there being with force and Arms an assault did make and the same Mary then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of her life it was much despaired and other harms to her then and there did to the great damage of the same Mary and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government &c Testes Mary Jones: Charles Ramsey On the foregoing Indictment it was Endorsed vizt True Bill p William Jones Foreman Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said Abraham and Elias Lamberson if they Should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have their bodys before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held in the Court house at Dividing Creek in the same County the third Tuesday of March then next to answer unto his said Lordship Of and Concerning the Indictm.t afd for trespass and assault &.c and that thereof he Should not fail &c And afterwards the third tuesday of March ^afd^ to witt the fifteenth day of the Same month anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held in the Court house at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said Abraham Lamberson and Elias Lamberson in their proper persons and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and they and Each of them being Instantly demanded how they and Each of them would acquitt themselves of the trespass and assault afd as by the Indictment afd above upon them and Each of them is Imposed say that they and Each of them are not Guilty thereof and of this they and Each of them put themselves upon the Country and William Goldsborough Gent his Lordships attorney who for his said Lordship in that part followeth Likewise thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriffe of Somerset County that Immediately he Should Cause to Come here before the Justices afd Twelve &c by whom &c and who neither &c to recognize &c because as well &c and afterwards Immediately Came thereof the Jury &c and the Jurors of that same Jury by Joseph MccClester Gent sher of the County afd to this Impannelled being Called Came to witt Nicholas Fountain Joshua Sturges Charles Townsend |
