              Speciall Court                            1733          303

by act of assembly of this province to be taken to the Government as also the accustomed Oath of Clerk to Thomas
Hayward who takes the Same and Subscribe the oath of abjuration & test &c

       Likewise the Severall ^oath^ appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Government were administred to
John Sheldon with the oath of Cryer who takes the same & Subscribed the oath of abjuration & test & is admitted &c

Robert Jenckins Henry of Somerset County Gent being appointed prosecutor of his Lordships pleas in this
Court takes the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Goverment with the oath of
Prosecutor and Subscribes the oath of abjuration and test and is admitted &c


    Whereupon proclamation being made the Sheriffe of Somerset County to witt Joseph McClester
Gent makes return of a pannell of Grand Jurors as followeth viz.t  John Scott David Wilson Tho.s
Williams John Woollford W.m McClemmey James Nearn Robert Mitchell John White pow: William
Adams John Dennis John Beavins Nathaniel Horsey Joshua Caldwell John Brittingham William Kitchen
James Strawbridge James Martin Richard Brooks Robert Dashiell and thereupon proclamation being made
by the Cryer according to Common form &c  the Jurors afd so as afd Impannelled being Severally Called over by
their Names did appear as above and thereupon they were Sworn to Enquire according to the foregoing
Commissions &c according to Common form and were Charged by the Chiefe Justices of this Court and Sent out
to Consider &c         Soon after the Grand Jurors afd being Impannelled sworn and Charged as afd
return into Court and being Severally Called Over did appear and being asked if they had agreed on any
bills of Indictments return five Severall Bills as may here after appear &c

Somerset County ss.t    The Jurrors for the Right Honble the Lord proprietary
that now is for the body of the County afd upon their oath do present that
Peter Taylor late of Somerset County planter the twenty first day of
december in the year of our Lord had one thousand seven hundred and thirty six at the
Court house at dividing Creek in the County afd one Dark bay Coloured Gelding being
the proper goods and Chattles of a Certain John Evans with force and arms Unlawfully
did take and Imprison and the same Gelding so as afd Imprisoned being with force
and arms did disfigure and from the Tail of the same Gelding then and there the hair
thereof did with force and arms unlawfull Cut off to the great damage of the said John
Evans and against the peace of the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now
is his good rule and Government &c
