November Court                   1736            290

Tuesday of august anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six being the day of the return
of the said Writt Came the said John Shiles by Thomas Bluett his attorney and the Sheriffe of Somerset
County to witt Joseph MccClester Gent Likewise Came and made return that by vertue of the writt
afd to him thereof directed he had taken the body of the said William Bozman whose body
before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset at the same day and place in the writt afd
mentioned he had there ready &c
                                                                   And the afd William Bozman by Francis Allen his attorney
Comes and defends the force and Injury when &c and prays Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill
next Court and he hath it and the Same day is given to the afd John here also &c

       Att which said next Court to witt the Sixteenth day of November anno Dom one thousand
seven hundred and thirty Six Came againe as well the afd John Shiles as the afd
William Bozman by their attorneys afd and Because the afd John Shiles did not declare
against the afd William Bozman by the Twentyeth day of January then next following nor
prosecutes his writt afd
                                           Therefore he and his Pledges of Prosecuting be in mercy
and the plft name pledges &c  and that the afd William Bozman goe thereof without day
also it is Considered that the afd William Bozman Recover against the afd Thomas Shiles
161   his damages by Occasion of the premisses to one hundred and Sixty One
pounds of tobacco to the Same William Bozman by discretion of the Justices here at his
request for his Costs and Charges in that part Sustained according to the form of the Statute in
such Case Lately made and provided by the Court here adjudged &c

    Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County
that he should take Thomas Covington Late of Somerset County
planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might
have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County County Court of Somerset to be held
at dividing Creek in the Same County the third Tuesday of august then next to answer
unto John Shiles Sen.r of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c  and that thereof he should
not fail &c      att which said Third Tuesday of August to witt the Seventeenth day of
the Same month anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six being the day of the
return of the Same Writt Came the Said John Shiles by ^Thos Bluett^ his attorney afd  And the Sheriff of
Somerset County to witt Joseph MccClester Gent Likewise Came and made return that by vertue
of the writt afd to him thereof directed he had taken the body of the said Thomas Covington whose
