288 made and provided) and their Cause to Come before you or any three or two of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainent or deft if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the holy Evangelist of almighty God in the presence of the Complainent or deft if any touching the truth or Remembrance of their knowledge or any thing that may relate to the Cause afd and that reducing the severall depositions into wrighting you send the same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed Wittness Robert King Gent Cheif Justices of our said Court the nineteenth day of June in the twenty second year of our dominion &c Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty six On the foregoing Commission it was Endorsed vizt Maryland ss Be it remembred that upon the Twenty third day of aug.t 1736 the within Mentioned Day Scott and George Dashiell Qualified themselves to Execute the within Commission by taking the Oath required by act of assembly before the Subscriber One of the Justices of the provinciall Court Levin Gale Now hereat this Sixteenth day of November ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six Came into Court Day Scott and Geo Dashiell two of the Commissioners mentioned in the above Commission and returned the Same with the depositions thereto annexed as followeth viz.t The deposition of Thomas Rencher aged fifty two years or their abouts being Sworn on the holy Evangelist of allmighty God saith that about Twenty years ago he was shown this bounded tree by John Shiles and Sarah Green both dec.d and told this deponant that it was the bounded tree by John Shiles of a tract of land Called hickory Ridge and further this deponant saith that about fourteen years agoe Certain James Inglish now decd was in Companey with him at the house where Thomas Willing now lives and that the afd James Inglish pointed out his hand and said unto this deponant younder Stands the bounder tree of this tract of Land for I Carried the Chaine at a resurvey made on the said Land which tree before mentioned stand by the Edge of a Swamp and about thirty yards from the Edge of the plantation of the abovesaid Thomas Willing and further this deponant Saith not Given under his hand and Seal this second day of November One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six his Thomas T Rencher (seal) marke The Deposition of John Shiles (son of John Shiles above mentioned) aged thirty five |
