268 Testes Thomas Hargis Mathew Selby & Daniel Surges ` On the foregoing Bill it was Endorsed vizt A True Bill William Jones Foreman Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he should take the said Nehemiah Holland if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the sixteenth day of November anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said Nehemiah Holland in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his security before acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd who thereupon says that of the trespass and assault afd As by the Indictment above upon him Imposed he is Guilty thereof and is willing to pay his fine for the same Whereupon ^all & singular^ the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood Therefore it is Considered that the afd Nehemiah Holland pay unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court hereupon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the trespass and assault afd whereof in form afd he is Convict five shillings Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said Nehemiah Holland be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &a Thomas Hargis appears according to his recognizance Entered into to give Evidence against Nehemiah Holland and is discharged therefrom &a
afd within Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a certain James Holston of the same County planter in the peace of God and of the said Lord proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and the same James then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his life it was much despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damages of the same James and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Goverment &c Test James Houston John Brittingham and Dixon Quinton On the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed vizt Ignoramus Willm Jones foreman and afterwards to witt the Sixteenth day of Noveber anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at Dividing Creek in and for the Same County Came the said Saul Townsend in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his Securitys before acknowledged and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he and his Securitys discharged from the same Recognizance &a Thereupon the same Saul Townsends appearance is recorded and he and hs Securitys accordingly discharged &a |
