Tillman during the term afd shall and will give his said apprentice app Six month Schoolling
and knitt sew and Spin and alter houswifery and Likewise provide for his said apprentice
meat Drink washing Lodging and Cloathing sufficient for her to have and wear during the term
afd  thereupon the said Aaron Tillman is ordered to give Recognizance for to Comply the Covenants
afd  Whereupon the said Aaron Tillman present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged
himselfe Indebted unto the said Rebecca Tillman in the Sum of Ten pounds Sterling good
and Lawfull money of England of his goods and Chattells Lands and Tenements to the Use of
the said Rebecca Tillman her heirs and assignes to be made and Levied  If it happen that
the said Aaron Tillman do not during the term afd give the said Rebecca Six months schooling
and knitt sew and Spin and other houswifery and Likewise provide for his said apprentice
meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing sufficient for her to have and wear during the term

                                  The Jurors for the Right Honrble the Lord
Proprietary that now is for the body of Somerset County afd upon
their Oath do present that Sarah Staples Late of Somerset parish
in the County afd Spinster the first day of March in the Year of our Lord God Seventeen
hundred thirty and five at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction
of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain Person to the Jurors afd unknown and
did permitt the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnall knowledge of her
body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the Same Sarah to the
high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending
contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good rule and
Government and against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made and provided
&a             Test   Samuel Jones         On the backside of the foregoing bill of Indictm.t
it was thus Endorsed viz.t  Billa Vera Edmond Hough foreman

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the
said Sarah Staples if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the sixteenth day of Novem
Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships
County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came ye
said Sarah Staples in her proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and
security before acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd who thereupon says
that she is not Guilty thereof and of this she putts herselfe upon the Country and Wm
