    August Court                    1736                        256

followeth vizt  August the 1.st 1736   Then Came before me Cap.t John Scott and Robert Geddes and Sworn upon
the holy Evangelist of almighty God to Execute the within Commission before me W.m Lane

Somerset County sst  Whereas we having received a Commission to us directed by the Worshipfull
Justices of Somerset County Court thereby Impowering us to Examine Wittnesses in relation to the
Bounders of a tract of Land called mount Hope And now in the possession of and on the behalf of a Certain
John Sheldon and in pursuance to the Executing the said Commission we do hereby Certifye to the said
Court that after due Quallification According to law we did proceed as Follows Vizt

The depossition of Elizabeth Bucksborn aged fifty seven year or thereabouts being sworn upon
the holy evangelist of almighty good saith that about twenty three or twenty four years ago she saw
and viewed the bounder tree and that her husband told me the same time it was actualy one of the
bounders of the said Land called mount hope wherein we lived about eleven years or there abouts and that
she thinks this spott wherein she now stands is the very place whereon the said Bounder stood which is
about eleven paces distant from a large white oake which is now Slipd and bearing south from the said
spott and further this deponent saith not            Taken before us this 10th day of Agust 1736/

Rob.t Geddes   The above deponent also saith that a Certain large poplar standing in the
Edge of mount Hope branch that her husband told her it was a bounder tree of a tract of Land
Called as above said and the same time she held her hand upon the said tree being on the north
side of the said branch and below mount hope bridge this deponent further saith not   taken
before us the date above                                                                     mark

    Jno Scott          The depossition of Edmond Dickerson senr aged seventy eight years
    Robt Geddes   or thereabouts being sworn upon the holy Evangelist of almighty God saith
he was at work with Benj: Bucksborn on a fork of mount Hope Branch near mount hope
bridge and that he standing near the said fork in our view did point with his hand near to the
place where Elizabeth Bucksborn did lay her hand on a poplar Tree as is before by her
deposed to be one of the bounder trees of the afd land and he this deponent further saith that
the above Bucksborn at the ^same^ time Told him this deponant that there stands my Corner tree it is
a popler tree and further saith not      Taken before us this 10th day of Augt 1736
