 Somerset County ss.t  Jeremiah Wright Late of Somerset County planter
was attached to answer unto Francis Allen of a plea of trespass upon the case &a
And Whereupon the said Francis by Geo: Douglas his attorney
complains that whereas the said Jeremiah the third day of June Anno Dom seventeen hundred and
thirty at Somerset County within the Jur of this Court had accounted with him the said francis for sundry
sums of tobacco by the said Jeremiah before that time due owing and unpaid  And upon that acct was
found in arrear to the said Francis in nine hundred and twenty six pounds of tobacco and being so thereof
Indebted the said Jeremiah in Consideration thereof upon himself did assume and then and there
faithfully promised to pay the said Francis the afd nine hundred and twenty six pounds of tobacco
Nevertheless the said Jerimiah tho' often required the said nine hundred twenty six pounds
of tobacco to the said Francis hath not paid but the same to pay hath refused and still doth refuse
and deny to the damage of the said francis of fifteen hundred pounds of tobacco and thereupon
he bring suit &c                                                               pledges dep        John Do R Roe

    And whereupon the said Jeremiah Wright in his own proper person Cometh and defendeth
the force and Injury when &.a and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the action afd of the afd
Francis nor but that he did assume upon himselfe in manner and form as the afd Francis above
against him Complained and as to the damage of the same Francis by him by occasion of the
premisses in that part sustained the same Jeremiah saith and Confesseth that the aforesaid
Francis has sustained damages by occasion of the premisses further than his Costs and Charges
by him about his Suit in that part apposed to Nine hundred and Twenty Six pounds of tob.o
and not more and because the afd Francis deny's not this but the same allegation Confesseth
to be true prays Judgment and those damages before Confessed together with his Costs and
Charges afd to him to be adjudged &a

          Therefore by Consent of the parties afd it is Considered that the afd Francis Allen recover
against the afd Jeremiah Wright his damages afd to the afd Nine hundred and twenty Six pounds
202   of tobacco in form aforesaid Confessed also                                                      pounds of
227   tobacco for his Costs and Charges aforesaid to the same Francis at his request by the Court here
by the Consent of the parties aforesaid adjudged and the afd Jeremiah in Mercy &a

 You William Davis Richard Goslee and Thomas Goslee do confess Judgment to
Joshua Caldwell for the Sum of four hundred & thirty three pounds of tobacco which
sum was Recovered by Joshua Caldwell against the said William Davis on the
Sixteenth day of July before a Single Justice of the peace for Somerset County the same four hundred
and thirty three pounds of tobacco to be Levied of your bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements
