1735 (24) his said Lordship in that part followeth Likewise Thereupon it is Commanded the sheriffe of Somerset County that Immediatly he should Cause to Come here before the af.d Justices twelve &a by whom &a and who neither &a to recognize &a because as well &a and afterwards Immediately Came thereof the Jury and the Jurors of that same Jury by Joseph McClester Gent sheriffe of the County aforesaid to this Impannelled being Called Came to witt Day Scott, Charles Dashiell, Thomas Walter, Angello Atkinson Jonathan Sturgis, Geo Benston, James Breman, William Miller, Richard Chambers, James Nearn John Lane and John White Pocomoke who to say the truth of ^and upon^ the premisses being Elected tryed ^and sworn^ upon their oath do say that the af.d Comfort Mannering is not Guilty of the Felony aforesaid in the Indictment aforesaid specified in manner and form as by the Indictment aforesaid above against her ^is^ supposed &a Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid Comfort Mannering be quiet and go thereof without day &a whereupon the said Comfort Mannering is ordered to give security for the payment of the Severall Officers their Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd upon the Indictment aforesaid thereupon a Certain Edward Rownd of Somrset County Gent acknowledged himselfe Indebted in ten pounds Sterling to be Levied for the use of the Severall Officers that hath a right to any Fees in the Indictment aforesaid If it happen that the said Edward Rownd do not pay and Satisfie unto the Severall Officers of Somerset County Court their Just and rightfull Fees that doth belong to them on the Indictment afd against the aforesaid Comfort Mannering &a Sarah Pointer and Sarah Glace appears here in Court according to their Recognizance Entered into for to give evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against Comfort Mannering and is accordingly discharged therefrom &a
hundred thirty and five in the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain John Murray in the peace of God and of the same Lord proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and the said John Murray then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his Life it was greatly despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damage of the same John and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule and Government &cra On the back side of the foregoing BIll of Indictment it was Test John Murray thus Endorsed vizt True Bill p Joshua Caldwell foreman Thereupon Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the said Moses Chaille |
