    August Court              1736                229

sum of five pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly
and Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors  If it happen that
the said Heber Whittingham do (and shall) not pay unto his Lordship fifty Shillings Curr.t money of maryland
for ever Year he Shall keep such ordinary or house of Entertainment &a

    Likewise the same Heber Whittingham with Alexander Adams and Richard Knight his securitys as
afd all present herein Court as afd acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary
in the Sum of forty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements
Joyntly and Severally to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied  If it
Happen that the said Heber Whittingham do not keep good rules & orders and do suffer Idle Loos or
disorderly persons to tipple game or Committ other disorders or Irregularities in his ordinary or hous
of entertainment during the time that he shall keep the Same Contrary to the true Intent & meaning of the
act of assembly in Such Case made and provided &a

James Rownd of Somerset County Gent came here into Court in his proper
person and prays that he may have the liberty to keep an Ordinary or house of Entertainment
at his house at the seaside in the County afd for the ease and Conveniency of the
Inhabitants travellers and Strangers as to them respectively shall seem meet which is by the Court here granted
him he giveing Security According to act of assembly in such case made and provided &c  Whereupon the
said James Rownd with James Martin and Edward Rownd both of Somerset County his Securitys all
present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the
Lord proprietary of Maryland in the sum of five pounds Currt money of Maryland of their goods
and Chattels Lands and tenements Joyntly and severally to be made and Levied to the use of his said Lordship
his heirs and Successors If it happen that the said James Rownd do (and shall) not pay unto his Lordship
fifty shillings Currt money of Maryland for ever year he shall keep such ordinary or house of Eentertainment
&c            Likewise the same James Rownd with James Martin and Edward Rownd his
securitys as afd all presents here in Court as afd Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship
the Lord proprietary in the sum of forty pounds Currt money of Maryland of their goods and
Chattells Land and tenements Joyntly and severally to the use of his said Lordships his heirs and
Successors to be made and levied If it Happen that the said James Rownd do not keep good rules &
