Macclester Gent sheriffe of the County afd to this Impannelled being Called Came to witt Robert Jones Joseph
Wailes James Nearn Christopher Nutter William Porter Thomas Peal, Thomas Winder Jonathan
Sturges John Reddish Charles Townsend John Roach and Benjamin Townsend who to say the truth
of the premisses afd being duely Elected tryed and Sworn upon their Oath do say that the afd
Solomon Tomlinson is not Guilty of the premisses in manner and form as the afd Richard Brooks
above against him hath Complained &a

       Therefore it is Considered that the afd Richard Brooks take nothing by his writt & declaration
afd but that he be in mercy for his false Clamour and that the afd Solomon Tomlinson goe thereof
without day and further it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Solomon Tomlinson
Recover against the afd Richard Brooks
1172    pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges by him about his defence in that part Sustained to the
1172   same Solomon by the Court here according to the form of the statute in such Case thereof Lately made
and provided of his assent adjudged and that the afd Solomon have thereof Execution &a

Somerset ss     To the worshipfull Justices of Somerset County
James Robertson Clerk by William Beckingham his
attorney complains of Francis Allen Gen.t one of the attorneys
of this Court present here in Court in his proper person of a plea that he render unto
him seven hundred and seventy six pound of tobacco which to him he oweth and unjustly
detaineth  For that that whereas the same francis on the first day of June in the year
of our Lord seventeen hundred and twenty seven at Somerset County (^he^ the Same Francis
then and long before being high sheriffe of the same County by vertue of his office as
sheriff af.d at the County af.d had and received from the Taxable in habitants of Coventry
parish in the same County eighty three thousand eight hundred and forty pounds of
tobacco for the us of the same James as rector ^and^ Incumbent of the same parish (he the
same James then and yet being Incumbent of the same parish legally inducted and
appointed) as also for that whereas the same Francis on the af.d first   day of June
in the year af.d at the County af.d as sheriffe of the same County have received of and
from the vestry of Coventry parish five hundred pounds of tobacco from the vestry
of Somerset parish fee seven thousand pounds of tobacco from the vestry of Somerset
