And whereupon the afd Richard Phillips In his Own proper person Cometh & defendeth the force and
Injury when &a  and saith that Cannot gainsay the action afd of the afd William Kitchen nor but that he
did assume upon himselfe in manner and form as the afd William above against him hath Complained
and as to the damage of the Same William by him by Occasion of the premisses in that part Sustained
the same Richard saith and Confesseth that the afd William hath sustained damages by occasion of
the premisses further than his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in that part apposed to nine
pounds and four pence Curr.t money of Maryland and two hundred and Eighty Six pounds of tob.o
and not more and because the afd William deny's not this but the Same allegation Confesseth to be
true prays Judgm.t and those damages above Confessed together with his Costs and Charges afd to
him to be adjudged &a
                                                                
     Therefore by Consent of the parties afd it is Considered that
the afd William Kitchen Recover against the afd Richard Phillips his damages afd to the afd Nine pounds &
four pence Curr.t money of maryland and two hundred & Eighty Six pounds of tobacco by the Same Richard in form
240    afd Confessed as also Two hundred & forty                                                                     pounds of tobacco
for his Costs and Charges to the Same William at his request by the Court here by Consent of the parties afd
adjudged & the afd defend.t in mercy &a

Somerset County sst  Nathaniel Brittingham late of Somerset
County planter was attached to answer unto Thomas Lambden
of a plea of trespass upon the case &.a
And Where^u^pon the same Thomas Lambden by William Beckingham his attorney
complains that whereas he the same Thomas is a good true and faithfull liege subject
of the Lord the King that now is and as a good true and faithfull liege subject of the said
Lord the King and his progenitors Kings and Queens of England from the time of his
Nativity hitherto hath behaved and governed himselfe and of good name Behaviour
and honest Conversation amongst his neighbours as other persons to whom the same
Thomas Lambden hath been known hath been deemed reputed and taken and from
all Robberies Felonies, larcenies or other hurtfull crimes or any Suspition of the
same or either of them for the whole time af.d hath behaved and governed himselfe
whereby the same Thomas the good will and esteem of his Neighbours and others
to whom he when he was known did acquire  Nevertheless the af.d Nathaniel of
the premises in nor sort Ignorant but minding and Malitiously Intending the
