194 Joseph Bishop appears herein Court according to his recognizance for the good behaviour and he and his security is accordingly discharged &a Abraham Mannering appears here according to his recognizance for the good behaviour and he and his sery is accordingly discharged &a
force and Arms &.c at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court the Mansion house of a certain Thomas Adams their scituate then and there unlawfully and injuriously did break and enter and in and upon him the same Thomas Adams in these same house and in the peace of God and of the said Lord proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and him the said Thomas then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his Life it was greatly despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damage of the said Thomas Adams and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Goverment &.c Testes Thomas Adams John Jenckins Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said John Deal and Thomas Blizard if &.a to answer &.a afterwards to witt the fifteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at Dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said John Deal and Thomas Blizard in their proper persons according to a Certain Recognizance by them before acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and they and Each of them say that they are not guilty thereof and of this they and Each of them puts themselves upon the Country and William Goldsborough Gent his Lordships attorney and ^who^ for his said Lordship in that part followeth Likewise thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that Immediately he should Cause to Come here before the Justices afd twelve &.a by whom &.a and who neither &.a to recognize &.a because as well &.a and afterwards Immediately Came thereof the Jury &.a and the Jurors of that Same Jury by Joseph MaClester Gent sheriff of the County afd to this Impannelled being Called Came to witt Robert Johnes, James Nearn, Christopher Nutter Angello Atkinson William Porter Thomas Peal Thomas Winder Jonathan Sturges John Reddish Charles Townsend John Roach Benj.a Townsend who to say the truth of the premisses afd being duely Elected tryed and Sworn upon their |
