sitting at dividing Creek in the Same County Twelve &.a by whom &.a and who neither &.a to recognize &.a because as
well &.a and afterwards Immediately Came thereof the Jury &.a and the Jurors of that same Jury by Joseph
MccClester Gent sheriffe of the county afd to this Impannelled ^being Called^ Came to witt William Jones manocan Thomas
Dixon George Tull, John Atkinson, John Johnson Nehemiah Holland Thomas Pointer Peter Taylor Jn.o
Webb John Lay John Reddish and Thomas Lambden who to say the truth of the premisses afd being duely
Elected Tryed and Sworn upon their Oath do Say that the aforesaid Godfrey Sprogles did assume
upon himselfe in manner and form as the afd William Turpin above against him hath Complained and
assessed the damages of the Same William by Occasion of the non performance of the promise and assumption
afd further than his Cots and Charges by him about his Suit in that part apposed to One thousand pounds
of tobacco and for those Costs and Charges to One pound of tobacco

                      Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid William Turpin Jun.r Recover
against the afd Godfrey Sprogles his damages afd by the Jurors afd in form afd Confessed as also Eight hundred
777                                                                        pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges afd to the same
William of his assent by the Court hereof Increase adjudged which Certain damages in the whole do amount to  
                                                                                       pounds of tobacco and the afd Godfrey in mercy &.a

Somerset County ss  Donnock Dennis late of Somerset County planter was attached to
answer unto Edward Pointer of a plea of trespass upon the Case &.a
And whereupon the said Edward by Francis Allen his attorney Complainse that whereas
the said Donnock the first day of January Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty four at
the County of Somerset afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted was Indebted unto the said
Edward in Nine hundred and forty Six pounds of tobacco for One Young Mare ^&^ two Young Bulls by the sd
Edward to the said Donnock at the Speciall Instance and request of the said Donnock before that time
sold and delivered and being so thereof Indebted the said Donnock in Consideration thereof the day and
year af.d at the place af.d upon himself did assume and to the said Edward then and there did
faithfully promisse that he the said Donnock the af.d sum of Tobacco to him the said Edward
when he should be thereunto requested in the hands of Joshua Cal^d^well Sheriff then of the
said County he would well and faithfully pray and Content Neverthelesse the said Donnock
his promise and assumption af.d in form af.d made nothing regarding but plotting and
fraudulently intending the said Edward in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive and
defraud the af.d sum of Tobacco or any part thereof to the said Edward in the hands of the af.d
Joshua Caldwell or in any other Sort hath not paid or Contented altho' the same to do the
said Donnock by the Edward on the af.d                      day of                     in the year af.d
and often afterwards at the County af.d he was thereunto requested but the same to pay
or Content hath refused  And Still doth refuse and deny to the Damage of the said Edward
