And whereupon the Same Thomas Nevett by William Goldsborough his attorney Complaineth that wheras a certain James Scott the eighteenth Day of August which was in the year of our Lord God Seventeen hundred thirty and four at Somerset County af.d (the same James then and there negotiating and Commerce using) according to the Use and Custom of Merchants from Time whereof the Memory of man is not contrary in such Case used and proved did make his certain first Bill of Exchange with his proper Name and hand ^then &^ there did subscribe and that Bill unto a certain Mr Charles Rogers Merch.t in London (then and yet negotiating and Commerce using to wit at London in Somerset County af.d) did direct and by the same Bill of Exchange did requir the same Charles Rogers at thirty days after Sight of that his said first Bill of Exchange his second and third Bills of Exchange of the same Tenor and Date not paid to pay unto the af.d Thomas Gray (the same Thomas Gray then and yet negotiating and Commerce using to wit at Somerset County af.d) or order the sum of Six pound one Shillings and three pence Sterling for Value received and charge the same to the Account of him the same James Scott and the af.d Sum of Money in the said first Bill of Exchange mentioned in no Sort being paid the af.d Thomas Gray afterward to wit the Day of in the year af.d at Somerset County af.d by an Indorsment with the proper Name and Hand of him the same the same Thomas Gray upon the same first Bill of Exchange subscribed according to the use and Custom of merchants af.d from all the Time af.d used and approved did order the same Sum of money in the same first Bill of Exchange mentioned to be paid unto the af.d Thomas Nevett (the same Thomas then and there negotiating and Commerce using) or Order according to the Tenor of the same of the same Bill of Exchange for Value receveid and (afterwards) |
