of the Sheriff of Somerset County there to remaine &.a the Said sheriff to witt Joseph McClester
Gent present here in Court by Littleton Townsend his deputy took Charge of the said

Maryland ss     To the Sheriff of Somerset County

I send you here with all the body of Francis White of Somerset County
Schoolmaster who was this day Charged before me the Subscriber one of
the Justices of the provinciall Court with the feloniously stealing a blanckett of the goods &
Chattells of Edward Chambers Esq.r wherefore there is Cause to Suspect his Guilt and doe
hereby you to receive him into your Goal and him safely keep untill he shall find Sufficient
Suretyes for his good behaviour and appearance at the next Court to be held for Somerset
County then and there what on the Lord prorpys behalfe shall be Objected against him
hereof fail not at your perill and for your so doing this shall be your Sufficient Warrt
Given under my hand and Seal this 10.th of Janry 1735

                afterwards to witt the Sixteenth day of March ann Dom One thousand Seven
hundred and thirty five before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset Now
here held at Dividing Creek in and for the Same County Came the said Francis White under
Custody of the Sheriff of Somerset County into whose Custody before that time was Committed
for the Cause afd and being by the said sheriff Led to the barr and for as much as it doth not
appear to the Court here that the said Francis White ought to be further Committed and noe person
appearing to prosecute him  thereupon the Said Francis White from the Mittimus afd is
discharged by the Court and ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers
their fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd  Whereupon a Certain John Handy and
Isaac Handy of Somerset County Gent present herein Court in their propersons ^persons^ undertook for the said
Francis White to pay the Severall Officers Fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &a

To the Worshipfull Justices of Somerset County now in Court
setting the humble pettition of John Townsend Sen.r humbly
sheweth that whereas your petitioner is possest of an negro
man named Dick who Is aged and Impotant and your petitioner prays that
your petitioner may be set Clear from paying of Taxes for the said negro man
and your petitioner In duty bound shall Ever pray      John Townsend Senr

       The petition afd being Read and heard and fully understood  Wherefore it is Considered by the
