Indebted unto his Lordship the right Honrble the Lord Proprietary of the province of Maryland in twenty pounds
sterling each of the goods and Chattells Lands and tenements severally to be made and Levied to the Use of his said
Lordship his heirs and successors   If it happen that the said Thomas Fletcher do not make his personall
appearance before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third
tuesday of August next and do not answer unto his said Lordship of and Concerning what shall be objected
against him on his said Lordships behalfe and do not stand and abide the Judgmt of the Court thereon and
do depart the same Court without Leave and in the mean time if he is not of the good behaviour towards
his said Lordship and all his good people then &a

     To the Worshipfull Justices of Somerset County now in Court Sitting the Humble
petition of William Jones of manocan Humbly sheweth that your petitioner hath an
ageed negro man ^who by old age^ and a rupture in his grine (or bursned) is rendered Incapable of Service which
may appear to your worships more fully by one or more of your worships your petitioner therefore
humbly prays that your worships will please to Consider the agreivance and that as the above mentioned
negro is now grown ancient and very ailing by reason of the afd Ailment and has hitherto paid
taxes your petitioner prays that your worships would pleas from this time fourth to discharge your petitioner
or the afd negro from paying of taxes and your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray

       The petition aforesaid being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon
had   wherefore it is Considered that the afd William Jones be discharged for the future from paying
of Taxes for the aforesaid negro man as by the petition aforesaid is praid &a

Mr James Martin as his
Guardian
Nathaniel Brittingham son of Joseph Brittingham late of Somerset County
dec.d being Come to full age for the Chosing of his Guardian according to Law Came hereinto
Court in his proper person and prays that he may be admitted for to Chose
James Martin of Somerset County Gent as his Guardian which is to him Granted &a
    Whereupon the said Nathaniel Brittingham makes Choice of the said James Martin as his Guardian
    accordingly   thereupon the Said James Martin is ordered by the Court here to take into his Care and
    Custody all the estate of the said Nathaniel Brittingham both real and personall and that the said
    James Martin give Security for to Comply with the Guardianship aforesaid &a

       Whereupon the said James Martin with William Lane of Somerset County Gent his security
       both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the
