13 the term aforesaid &.c Whereupon the said John Gillett is ordered to give security for to Comply with the Covenants aforesaid Thereupon the said John Gillett with Edward Rownd of Somerset County Gent his Security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Obadiah Cushaday in the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling Each of their Severall bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to be made and Levied to the Use if the said Obadiah Cushaday his heirs and assignes If it happen that the said John Gillett do not during the term afd Learn his said apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer and to read well in the bible and to write and at the Expiration of his Servitude do not give him a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common Wearing Cloaths and a sett of Cordwainers tooles and a young Cow of about three Years of age old and do not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for such an apprentice to have & wear during the term afd &a Edward Rownd of Somerset County Gentleman and One of his Lordships Justices of the same County the peace to keep assigned present herein Court in his proper person made Complaint to the Court here that the Reverend Thomas Fletcher had abused him in the Execution of his Office the said Thomas Fletcher present here in Court in his proper Expressed these words following of the Said Edward Rownd in presents and hearing of the Justices of the County afd then & there in Court Judicially Sitting that he the said Thomas Fletcher had applied himselfe to the said Edward Rownd for a Search warrent for Stollen goods but the Said Edward Rownd denyed and Refused the Same whereupon the said Edward Rownd made it appear to the Court here in presents of the said Thomas Fletcher that he the said Thomas Fletcher did not repair in person before him requiring of the Same Warrent nor did he make Oath according to Law before such warrants ought to be obtained which the said Thomas Fletcher acknowledged herein Court to be true &a whereupon All and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard & fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Thomas Fletcher pay unto his said Lordship the Lord proprietary for his fine for and occasion of the premisses afd one thousand pounds of tobacco and that the said Thomas Fletcher be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd Likewise the said Thomas Fletcher is ordered to give recognizance with One Security for his good 3 and appearance at August Court next &a Whereupon the said Thomas Fletcher with Thomas Walker of Somerset County planter his security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted |
