(61) Displeasure of Almighty God and to the Evil Example of all others in Such Cases Offending and Against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided wherefore the Said Rob.t Jenkins Henry prays the Advice of the Court in ye Premisses and Due process of Law thereon Against the Said Honour Haley may Issue Thereupon Command was Given to the sherriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the said Honour Haley if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards to witt the twenty fifth day of august anno Dom one thousand Seven Hundred and thirty three Came here into Court before the Justices ^thereof^ the afd Honour Haley in her proper person and had a hearing of the Information and Says that of the premisses afd as by the Information afd above upon her Imposed she is Guilty thereof and Confesseth that Jupiter a negro man belonging to a Certain Jonathan Stanton is the begetter of the Child she stands Informed against &a And for as much as it doth appear to the Court here that the Child of the afd Honour Haley is a molatto Child and a female and whereas there is due to Somerset County for Such Inordinate Copulation Seven Years Service from the Said Honour and thirty One Years Service from the afd Child according to an act of assembly in Such Case provided &a Whereupon the Justices here according to the afd act of assembly did Sell the afd female Malotto Child which is Called Sarah (so as afd begott of the Same Honour) unto a Certain Wm Gray of Manocan untill she arrives at the age of theirty One the said Mallotto Child Called Sarah being One month old the twenty fourth day of this Instant and to serve the Said William Gray her Master his heirs or assignes the full term of time afd In Consideration of Which Sale and Service the Said William Gray present here in Court undertakes for to pay to the Use of the County afd five hundred pounds of tobacco &a
of Maryland and Avalon Lord Barron of Balt &a To the sher of Somerset County Greeting we Command you that you Attach any the Goods Chattles Rights or Credits of Rob.t Holland late of Somerset County Merch.t if they shall be found in Your Balywick to the Value of one hundred and three pounds Sixteen shillings and two pence Curr mony and Two thousand pounds of Tobo and when you have the same Attached or any part thereof the same in Your Custody Safe keep so that You have the same before our Justices of our County Court of Somerset to be held at Dividing Creek the third (Tuesday) |
