54 Glasco a negro Boy of Betts Collier is adjudged by the Court to Eight Years of age this terme &a
Taylor al.s shaw well and faithfully shall serve his secrets keep his Commandments Lawfull and Honestly every where willing shall do and in all things as a good and faithfull Servant shall demean himself toward his said Master and all his during the term afd &a In Consideration of which Service the said John Followes present here in Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting on behalfe of the said Michael Taylor al.s shaw that he the said John Followes during the term afd will Learn his said apprentice in the trade of a weaver and to Read write and Cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his servitude give his said apprentice a new suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all Other Necessarys Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &a Whereupon it is ordered by the Court here that the said John Follows give Security for to Comply with the Covenants afd Thereupon the said John Follows with George Benston of Somerset County planter his security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the said Michael Taylor al.s Shaw in the sum of fifty pounds sterling of their severall goods and Chattells Lands and Tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied to the use of the said Michael Taylor al.s shaw If it Happen that the afd John Follows do not during the term of Servitude afd Learn his said apprentice the Trade of a weaver and to read write and Cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his servitude do not give him a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common weaving Cloths and do not Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all other Necessaryes Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &a Quash a negro Boy of John Britts being very ailing and distempered is discharged from paying of Taxes untill such time as please God to Restore him to his health againe &a
