254 And afterwards to witt the Eighteenth day of march One thousand seven hundred & thirty four before the Justices of his Lordship County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in the Same County Came the said Michael Dorman in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him before that time acknowledged and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he discharged from the recognizance afd thereupon the said Michael Dormans Appearance is recorded and he accordingly discharged &a William Dorman appears to his recognizance taken to give Evidence against Michael Dorman on behalfe of his Lordship and is accordingly discharged &a James Allexander appears to his recognizance taken to give evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against Michael Dorman and is accordingly discharged &a
of March then next to answer unto Joshua Caldwell of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a and that thereof he Should not fail &a whereupon the said Joshua Caldwell by George Douglas his attorney Complaines against the said William West in the plea afd as followeth vizt Somerset County ss William West late of Somerset County planter was attached to answer unto Joshua Caldwell of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a And whereupon the said Joshua by George Douglas his attorney Complains that whereas the said William on the first day of December Ann.o Dom Seventeen hundred and thirty three at Somerset County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the said Joshua in the quantity of two thousand One hundred and Seventy five and One halfe pounds of tobacco for sundry matters and things properly Chargable in account as by an account thereof herewith into Court brought and hereto annexed may appear and the said William being so thereof Indebted on Consideration thereof afterwards to witt the day and Year afd at the County afd upon himselfe did assume and to the Said Joshua then and there faithfully promise that he the afd William the said quantity of two thousand One hundred and Seventy five and one halfe pounds of tobacco when he should be ^afterwards^ thereto requested to the said Joshua would well and faithfully content and pay and altho' the afd William hath paid to the said Joshua the Quantity of three hundred and twelve pounds of tobacco part of the said two thousand One hundred and |
