    Betty Neasome in her proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and her security before that
time acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and being thereupon Instantly demanded how
she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd by the Indictment afd above upon her Imposed says that
of the premisses afd upon her Imposed she is Guilty thereof but hath not wherewith all to pay her fine
for the fact afd   whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood
It is Considered by the Justices here that the said Betty Neasome according to act of assembly in such
Case provided be whipt at the publick whiping post with ten Lashes on the bare back well Laid on untill
the blood appear and that she be taken &a   thereupon as to the Corporall punishment afd Command is
given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he take the said Betty Neasome to the publick whiping post
and there give her tenn Lashes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear and afterwards
in the same Court Came the said sheriff and made return that he had done the Execution of the Judgmt afd as
to the Corporall punishment afd he was Commanded   whereupon the said Betty Neasome present here
in Court is ordered to give security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses
afd   thereupon a Certain Joseph Bownds of Somerset County planter present here in Court acknowledged
himselfe Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of five pounds sterling to
be Levied &.a  If it happen that he doth not pay unto the Severall Officers of Somerset County Court their fees
due on the Indictment afd by means of the premisses afd &a

prop.ry that now is for the body of Somerset County af.d
upon their Oath do present that Jacob Messick late of
Stepney parish in the County af.d planter the Sixth day of december in
the year of our Lord God Seventeen hundred thirty and four at the parish
af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did commit
Fornication with a Certain Betty Nesom and of her body then and there
had carnal knowledge and a bastard Child on the body of her the same
Betty Nesom then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Almighty
God to the evil Example of all others in such Case offending contrary
to the peace of the said Lord propry that now is his good rule and
Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such
Case lately made and provided &a
Test   Becky Nesom        On the backside of the foregoing bill of Indictment
it was Endorsed as Followeth Viz.t   Billavera Rob.t Jones Foreman

Thereupon Command was given to the Sher of Somerset County that he
should take the said Jacob Messick if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards
