June Court 1733       (25)

       aforesaid upon himself did assume and to the said Luke then and there did
       faithfully promise that he the said John the said fourteen pounds six shillings and
       six pence to the said Luke when he should be thereunto Requested he would well and
       faithfully pay and Content  Nevertheless the said John his promise and assumption
       aforesaid in form aforesaid Made Nothing Regarding but plotting and fraudulently
       Intending the said Luke in that part Craftily and Subtilly to Deceive and Defraud
       the aforesaid fourteen pounds six shillings and six pence to the said Luke altho
       the same to do the said John by the aforesaid Luke on the aforesaid twenty
       Ninth day of March in the year aforesaid and often afterwards at Somerset
       County afsd within the Jurr afsd he was thereunto Requested hath not paid nor
       unto him for the same in any Sort Contented but the same to him hitherto to pay
       or in any sort to Content hath refused and still doth Refuse and Deny whereupon
       he saith he is Worse and hath Damage to the Value of Twenty Eight pounds
       thirteen shillings Like mony and thereupon he brings suit &c.a            Jno Doe

          Whereupon the afd John Webb present here in Court in his proper person is at the prayer
at the prayer of the afd Luke Bowen by his attorney afd ^is^ adjudged to give Speciall bail to the
action afd   Thereupon a Certain John Bishop of Somerset County planter present here in Court
in his proper persons assumed upon himselfe and did undertake for the same John Webb
that if in Case the said Luke Bowen Should Recover Judgment in the plea afd against the said
John Webb or that the said John Webb should be therein Convict that then he the Said John Webb
shall pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or Render his body to the Custody of the sheriffe
of Somerset County in Satisfaction thereof or that he the said John Bishop will do it for him &c
