216 Tom a negro boy of Christopher Dowdle is adjudged by the Court of to be of the age of Eleven Years &a William Fasit of Somerset County Gent Surveyor or Riding officer of the Sea side district present here in Court produced a Commission for that purpose took the Severall Oaths to the Government and Subscribed the Oath of Abjuration and Test &a Pompey a negro Boy of Thomas Haywards is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of tenn Years &a this term Pollipus a negro boy of Thomas Hayward is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of Nine Years &a this term Abraham a negro Boy of Thomas Lambden is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of Six Years this term &a John Woollford appointed pressmaster for the bayside for the Ensuing Year &a William Fasitt Jun.r appointed pressmaster for the seaside for the Ensuing Year &a
Lord God Seventeen hundred thirty and two at the parrish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors af.d unknown and did permit the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard child on the body of her the Same Sarah to the high displeasure of almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such Case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case lately made and provided &.a Testes Sampson Wheatly On the back side of the foregoing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed viz.t Billa vera Sam.ll Wilson foreman Thereupon Command was given to the sherriff of somerset County that he should take the said Sarah Rice if &c to answer &c and afterwards to witt the Ninteenth day of November One thousand seven hundred and thirty four before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek In the County afd Came the afd Sarah Rice in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd and being Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the Indictment afd says that of the premisses Contained in the Indictment afd she is Gilty thereof and makes oath that a Certain John Taylor is the father of the Child she stands Indicted for but hath not wherewithall to pay her fine for the fact afd &a Wherefore it is Considered by the |
