1734 (205) Thirty four the said fifteen hundred and fifty Eight pounds of tobacco to be Levied of your bodies Goods ^or^ and Chattles lands or tenements for the use of Edward Harper if in Case Patrick Dayley shall not pay & satisfie unto Edward Harper fifteen hundred and fifty Eight pounds of Tobacco as afores.d recovered against him with the Additionall Cost thereon before the tenth day of feb.y Next Taken before us this 29.th Day of July 1734 David Wilson Geo Dashiell Somerset County These are to Certifie whom it may Concern that Thomas Tate is quallified as master of the publick school of the County afores.d by takeing the Severall Oaths Appointed by Act of Assembly which is attested p RKing 1731
for One Yoke of Oxen to her sold and delivered as by Acc.t hereunto Annexed may in Court appear and being so thereof indebted the said Susannah in Consideration thereof the day & year af.d at Somerset County af.d within the Jurisdiction af.d upon her self did assume and did assume and to the Said William then and there did faithfully promise that she the said six pounds to the said William when she should be thereunto requested she would well and faithfully pay and Content Nevertheless the said Susannah her promise and assumption af.d in form af.d made nothing regarding but plotting and fraudulently Intending the said W.m in that part craftilly and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the af.d Money to the s.d William although the same to do the said Susannah by the afd William on the af.d tenth day ^of^ march in the Year afd and often afterwards at Somerset County afores.d within the Jur af.d she was thereunto requested hath not paid or to him for the same in any sort to Contented but the same to him hitherto to pay or in any Sort to Content hath refused and Still doth refuse & deny whereupon he saith he is worse and hath damage to the Value of twelve pounds Like money and thereof he brings suit &.cr pledges &.c John Doe & R Roe 1731 M.rs Susannah Wordie Dr Cr To a Yoke of Oxen £6: 5: By ye Docters Acc.t 7..6 Errors Excepted p Wm Whittington July ye 19.th 1734 Then Came M.r William Whittington and prov'd the Above Aco.tt in due form before me Jam.s Martin And the afd Susannah Wordie by William Beckingham her attorney Comes and defends the force & Injury when &.a and prays Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court and she hath it and the same day is given to the afd plantiff here also &a Att which said next Court to witt the twentieth day of August anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty four Came againe as well the afd William Whittington as the afd Susannah Wordie by their attorneys afd And whereupon the said Susannah as before defends the force and Injury when &c and |
