Whereupon the said John Crawford in his own proper
person Cometh ant defendeth the force and Injury when &^a
and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the action aforesaid of the
aforesaid John Reddish nor Can he Say but that he did assume
upon himselfe in manner and form as the afd John Reddish

Above against him hath Complained and as to the damage of the Same John Reddish by him by Occasion of
the premisses in that part sustained the same John Crafford saith and Confesseth that the af.^d John
Reddish hath sustained damages by Occasion of the premises further than his Costs and Charges
by him about his Suit in that part apposed to Seven pounds Eight Shillings and Eight pence
Currant money of Maryland and not more and because the af.^d John Reddish deny's not this
but the same allegation Confesseth to be true prays Judgm.^t for those damages above Confessed together
with his Costs ^and^ Charges af.^d to him to be adjudged &.^c

Therefore by Consent of the parties af.^d it is Considered that the af.^d John Reddish recover
against the af.^d John Crafford his damages af.^d to the af.^d Seven pounds Eight Shillings and Eight
pence ^Currant money of maryland^ in form af.^d Confesseth as also three hundred & Twenty Five pounds of
Tobacco for his costs and charges af.^d to the same John Reddish by the Court here and consent
of the parties af.^d adjudged and the af.^d John Crafford in mercy &.^c

Somerset County ss Alexander Chaine late of somerset County planter was
Attached to Answer unto Thomas Gray of a plea of trespass upon the Case &.^a
And whereupon the s.^d Thomas by Francis Allen his Attorney Complaines that
whereas the said Alexander the second day of september seventeen hundred and

thirty two at somerset County afores.^d within the Jurisdiction of this Court was
Indebted unto the s.^d Thomas in three pounds one shilling & Nine pence Curr.^t money of maryland
for sundrys properly Chargeable in Acc.^t as by Acc.^t thereof hereunto annexed may in Court appear
and being soe thereof Indebted the said Alexander in Consideration thereof the day and year afores.^d
at the place afores.^d upon himself did assume and to the s.^d Thomas then and there did faithfully
promise that he the s.^d Alexander the afores.^d three pounds one shilling and nine pence to the s.^d
Thomas when he should be afterwards thereunto requested he would well & faithfully pay and
Content nevertheless the s.^d Alexander his promise and assumption afores.^d in form af.^d made
nothing regarding but plotting and fraudulently ^Intending^ y.^e said Thomas in that part Craftily and
