Somerset ss  Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of
Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &a   To William Jones Manocan
James Strawbridge John Finch and Bartlett Fisher all of Somerset County Gent Greeting Know Ye
that wee have appointed you or any Three or Two of you to be Our Commissioners to Examine
Evidences on behalf of a Certain William Turpin of the County afd in Relation to the bounds of
a Tract of Land Called Amity Wee therefore Require you or Any Three or Two of you at Some Time
and place as to You or any Three or or Three Two of you shall seem Convenient you Meet on the
afd Land Called Amity (you first having Taken your Oaths on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty
God According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided) and their Cause to Come before
you or any Three or Two of you all Such Evidences as Shall be to you or any Three or Two of You
Nominated by the Said Complainant or Defendant if any and that you or any Three or Two of
you Examine them upon their Corporall Oaths to be by you or any Three or Two of You Administred
on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the presents of the Complainent or Defd.t if any
Touching the Truth or Remembrance of their knowledge or any Thing that may Relate to the Cause
afd and that Reducing the Severall Depositions into WRiting you Send the Same together with
this Our Commission Under Your Any three or Two of your hands and Sealls to us to Our County
Court of Somerset with all Convenient Speed Wittness Robert King Gent Chief Justice of
Our Said Court The Twenty ninth Day of November In the Ninteenth Year of Our
Dominion &a Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty four
On the backside of the foregoeing Commission it was Endorsed as Followeth viz.t

May the 11th 1734  Then came James Strawbridge & John Finch before the Subscriber and
Depos'd on the holy Evangelist of almighty ^God^ well and truly ^and Impartially^ to Execute the within Commission
According to the Directions of an act of Assembly in that Case provided            R King

Likewise to the Same Commission were Annexed ye following Depositions

    The Deposition of Gedeon Tillman Aged fifty Years or thereabouts and this Deponant
being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Saith that about thirty Two Years agoe
he was present at a Resurvey that James Furnis Sen.r had on a Tract of Land Called Amity and the
Surveyer Run from a Hickory Standing on the Brink of the main Branch Called Trading Branch
South Two Hundred and Ninety pole and as the Line went a Litle from the Said Hickory it went
a Cross some of Denum Olandmans fence and Took away (Two Aple Trees of the said Denum and
when the South Line was Endend they) marked an Oak in the main Branch of Back Creek Called
Quinteny Dams and further Saith not                                                               his

The Deposition of Moses Tillman aged Fourty Two Years or                          marke
there abouts ^and^ this Deponant being Sworn On the Holy Evangelist
of Almighty God Saith that a Hickory Standing on the Brink of the main Branch
Called Kings Branch above a place Called an Old Spring between the plantation where
Nicholas Fountain Son of Nicholas Fountain now Liveth and the plantation which
