Whereupon it is Ordered by the Court here that the said Elgate Hitch take the said Eve Price orphan as afs.d and her Estate personall into his care and possession untill she arrives at full age for the Chosing of her Guardian and Likewise that he give Security for to Comply with the Guardian Ship afsd &a Whereupon the said Elgate Hitch together with Isaac Handy and Samuel Fluellen both of somerset County planters his Securitys all present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to be Indebted unto the said Eve Price in the sum of forty pounds Sterling of their bodys Goods or Chattles Lands or tenaments to the use of the said Eve Price her heirs or Assignes to be made and Levied if it happen that the said Elgate Hitch do not Comply with the Law in Relation to such Guardians as af.d and do not deliver up unto the afs.d Eve Price or to her Guardian to be by her Chosen when she shall arrive at full age to Chose the same all her Estate personall that he shall have in his hands and possession peceably and Quietly when ever the same shall be Legally Required &a
said master the full term afd during which term the said Roger Mace his said Master well and faithfully shall serve his Secretts Keep his Commandments lawfully and honestly every where willingly shall do and in all things as a good and faithfull Servant shall demean himselfe towards his said master and all his during the term afd &a In Consideration thereof the said Benjamin Lebruse present herein Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form following that is to say he the said Benjamin Lebruse during the term afd will learn his said apprentice to read write and Cypher as far as the rule of three (and if his wife lives will Learn his said apprentice the trade of a weaver) and at the Expiration of his servitude give him a new suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise provide for his said apprentice sufficient meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing |
