                      August Court                       1734

Att a Court of the Right Honrble Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the
provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baltemore &a   Held at dividing Creek in the same
County the third tuesday of august to witt the twentieth day of the same month and in the twentieth
year of his said Lordships dominion ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty four
by his said Lordships Justices the peace in the same County to keep assigned of whom were
present

To the worshipfull Justices of Somerset County sitting the petition of Christopher
Obrien most humbly sheweth
                                                   That Whereas your petitioner hath a desire
to Live at the Court house at dividing Creek in the County afd to keep a hous of Entertainment
of Victualls drink and Lodging for the Benefitt of Travellers and Others that may have
Occasion thereof &a
                                     Your petitioner humbly prays your worships to Grant him the Liberty
of Building a hous on the Court house Land afd for the Use afd and as much Land as will be sufficient
to make his wife a Garden &a    The premisses granted to your petitioner will Oblige him always
to pray for your Worships

       The Petition afd being read and heard and fully understood wherefore it is Considered
that the afd Christopher Obrien have Liberty to build a hous on the Lands afd and the Liberty of
a Garden platt as by the petition afd is praid &a

Court sitting the petition of Boaz Walston humbly sheweth that your petitioner
has a Servant Lad that hath been for Severall months afflicted so that he is deprived
of the Use of his Limbs he is taken in the List of Taxables by the Name of Arthur Davis and as
he is still of noe Service but on the Contrary very Burthensome and Small Hopes of amendm.t
your petitioner prays that he may be discharged from paying the said Davis's Levey this present
