 Somerset ss    James Lindow late of Somerset County planter was attached to answer
unto Nicholas Hodgson of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a
And whereupon the same Nicholas by Thomas Bluett his attorney Complaines that
whereas the afd James the first day of august anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty at Somerset
County within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the same Nicholas in the Sum of Eighteen
pounds Sixteen shillings and Six pence Currant money of Maryland and so thereof being Indebted the
said James in Consideration thereof afterwards to witt the same day and Year afd at the County afd and
within the afd Jurisdiction upon himselfe assumed and to the said Nicholas then and there faithfully
did promise that when afterwards he should be requested he the said sum of Eighteen pounds Sixteen
shillings and Six pence to the same Nicholas would well and faithfully pay and Content  Nevertheless the
said James his promise and assumption afd in form afd made Little regarding but plotting and fraudulently
Intending him the Same Nicholas in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to defraud and deceive he
the said James the said Sum of Eighteen pounds Sixteen shillings and Six pence or any part thereof to
the same Nicholas hath not paid or him for it in any sort Contented altho' the said James afterwards
to witt the same day and Year afd at the County afd within the afd Jurisdiction was thereto requested by
the same Nicholas but the said James the same to do hath altogether refused and still doth refuse whereby
the Same Nicholas says he is worse and hath damage to the Value of thirty pounds Curr.t money and
thereof brings this suit &a                                     Pledges of pros:      Jno Doe

And the said James Lindow by Francis Allen his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &a
and prays Leave ^thereof^ to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Nicholas here
also &a
                             Att which said next Court to witt the twentieth day of June anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred
and thirty two Came againe as well the afd Nicholas Hodgson as the afd James Lindow by their attorneys afd and
whereupon the said James prays further leave thereof ^to^ Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it and the same
day is given to the afd Nicholas here also &a

       Att which said next Court to witt the fifteenth day of August Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and
thirty two Came againe as well the afd Nicholas Hodgson as the afd James Lindow by their attorneys afd and whereupon
the said James prays further Leave thereof to Imparle ^here untill next Court^  And he hath it and the same day is given to the
afd Nicholas here also &a

                Att which said next Court to witt the twentifirst day of November anno Dom One thousand Seven
hundred and thirty two Came again as well the afd Nicholas Hodgson as the afd James Lindow by their attorney
afd and whereupon the said James prays further Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath
and the same day is given to the afd Nicholas here also &a
