          June Court            1734            160

Following viz.t   By virtue of the within writt to me directed to the Justices of Somerset County I do Certifie
that on the fourteenth day of June One thousand seven hundred and thirty four I do Certifie that I did
attach of the goods and Chattells of the within Named Robert Townsend in the Hands of John Dennis
Jun.r and Patrick Connelly to the Value of four pounds Curr.t money of Maryland and five hundred
pounds of tobacco and for the use of Adam Spence Jun.r and I do further Certifie that before John
Doe and richard Roe good and Lawfull men of my balywick I have made known that they be and
appear at the time and place appointed &a so answers   Josa Caldwell sher

       Whereupon the said Patrick Connelly Garnishee of the afd Robert Townsend in his Own proper
person appears and Says that he Cannot gainsay but that he has of the rights and Creditts of the
said Robert Townsend to the value of six pounds Currant Money and not more Nor Can he say but
that the Same Ought to be Condemned in his hands of the Use of the said Adam Spence Jun.r as
of the rights and Creditts of the same robert  Townsend which the said plft doth not gainsay &a

       Thereupon the said Adam Spence Jun.r by his attorney afd prays that upon Giving security
according to Law the afd Sum of Six pounds Currant money so as afd Confessed by the said Patrick
Connelly as of the rights and Creditts of the Said Robt Townsend may be Condemned in the hands of
the Same Patrick Connelly towards Satisfying unto the said Adam Spence Jun.r his damages and all
Costs and Charges accrewing by means of the attachment afd &a

       thereupon Robert Jenckins Henry of Somerset County Gent present herein Court in his proper
    person undertakes for the said Adam Spence Jun.r according to act of assembly that in Case the said
Robert Townsend do at any time within a year and a day appear and make all or any part of the said
Adam Spence Jun.r Claim against him to be satisfied or otherwise to be undue before the Laying the
attachment afd that then he the said Adam Spence shall make restitution unto him the said Robert
Townsend of all or such part thereof as shall be made appear to be undue &a or that he the said
Robert Jenckins Henry will do it for him

                Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Sum of Six pounds Curr.t
money so as afd Confessed be Condemned in the hands of the afd Patrick Connelly as of the rights
and Creditts of the said Robert Townsend towards satisfying unto the said Adam Spence Jun.r his
damages and all Costs and Charges accrewing by means of the writt of attachment afd and that the
said Adam Spence Junr have thereof his Execution &a     Memorand.m that John Dennis Junr the other
of the Garnishees as is discharged from the attachment afd &a
