 Somerset County ss  Susannah Wordie late of Somerset County widdow Exrx of the last
will and testament of Alexander Wordie late of the said County Chyrurgion dec.d
was attached to answer unto Robert Gordon of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a 
                                And whereupon the said Robert by Francis Allen his attorney Complaines that whereas
the said Alexander in his Life time to witt the thirtieth day of November anno Dom One thousand seven
hundred and twenty Eight at the County of Somerset afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto
the said Robert in twenty four pounds Eleven shillings and two pence Currant money of Maryland as by
an acco.t hereunto annexed may in Court appear and being so thereof Indebted the said Alexander in his
Life time to witt the afd thirtieth day of November in the Year afd at the County afd within the Jurisdiction
afd upon himselfe did assume and to the said Robert then and there did faithfully promise that
he the said Alexander the said twenty four pounds Eleven shillings and two pence to the said Robert
when he should be thereunto requested he would well and faithfully pay and Content and altho' the said
Alexander in his Lifetime Eight pounds seventeen shillings and Eight pence parcell of the afd twenty
four pounds eleven shillings and two pence to the said Robert he pad and Satisfied Yett as to fifteen ^pounds^
thirteen shillings and Six pence residue of the afd twenty four pounds eleven shillings and two pence
the said Alexander in his Lifetime and the Said Susannah since the decease of the said Alexander the
promise and assumption of the said Alexander in his Lifetime so as afd made nothing regarding but
plotting and fraudulently Intending and Each of them plotting and fraudulently Intending the said Robert in
in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the said fifteen pounds thirteen shillings and Six
pence to the said Robert have not paid or Contented nor either of them hath paid or Contented altho' the same
to do the Same Alexander in his Lifetime to witt on the afd thirtieth day of November in the Year afd and
Often afterwards the afd Susannah since the death of the said Alexander (to witt) on the Ninteenth day
of February anno Dom Seventeen hundred and thirty and Often afterwards at the County afd within the
Jurisdiction afd they were thereunto requested but the Same to the said Robert to pay the said Alex.d
in his Lifetime and the said Susannah Since the decease of the said Alexander have refused and the
same Susannah to the Said Robert to pay still doth refuse and deny whereupon the Said Robert Saith
that he is worse and hath damage to the Value of thirty One pounds seventeen shillings money afd &
