    Webb the third Day of June which was in the Year of Our Lord God seventeen hundred and thirty
    four at Somerset County afd by his Certain Writing Obligatory had Granted himself to be bound
    unto the afd Peter in the afd sum of Nine pounds seventeen shillings & Eight pence Current
    Money of the province afd to be paid unto the same Peter when thereof afterward he
    should be Required   Nevertheless the afd John Webb altho often Required the afd Nine pounds
    seventeen shillings & Eight pence Current Money afd unto the afd Peter hath not Paid
    but that unto him hitherto to pay altogether hath refused and Still Doth refuse to the damage
    of the Same Peter Stewart Ten pounds Curr.t Money of Maryland and thereupon he
    bringeth Suit &a and doth bring hereinto Court the Writing Obligatory afd which the Debt
    afd in form afd doth Testifie the Date whereof is the same Day and Year afd &a
                                                                                                 pledges &a Jno Doe & Ri Roe

       Whereupon the said John Webb by William Beckingham his attorney Comes and defends the force
and Injury when &a and Says that he Cannot Gainsay the action afd of the afd Peter Stewart nor
Can he say but that the writing Obligatory afd is the deed of him the same John Webb nor but that he
Owes the same Peter Stewart the afd Nine pound seventeen shillings and Eight pence Currant
money in manner and form as the afd Peter Stewart above against him hath Compl declared wherefore
the same Peter prays Judgment for his debt afd and his damages by Occasion of the detaining of
the Same debt to him to be adjudged &a

             Therefore it is Considered that the afd Peter Stewart Recover against the said John Webb
his debt afd and his damages afd by Occasion of the deaining of the Same debt to One hundred
177   Seventy Seven                   pounds od tobacco to the same Peter Stewart of his assent ^by the County here^
adjudged and the afd deft in mercy &a

Called Patrick Burk of Somerset County & province of Maryland Sadler
was sumoned to Answer to Peter Stewart of Philadelphia Merchant of
a plea that he render him seven pounds four shillings & four pence Current
Money of the province afd which to him he Owes & Unjustly detains &a
And whereupon the said Peter by Geo: Douglas his Attny says that whereas the afd
Patrick Burk on the first day of June Ann Dom seventeen hundred & thirty four at Somst afd
Within the Juris of this Court by his Certain Writing Obligatory had Granted himself to be bound
to the said Peter in the afd sum of seven pounds four shillings & four pence Curt Money afd
to be paid to the said Peter when thereof afterwards required  Nevertheless the said Patrick
altho' often Required the afd seven pounds four shils & four pence to the afd Peter hath
not paid but the same to him to pay altogether hath refused & still doth refuse to the damage
of the said Peter Ten pounds Curr.t Money & thereof he brings suit  And he brings into
