in the plea afd         Att which said third Tuesday of June to Witt the Eighteenth Day of the Same ^month^
Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty four being the Day of the return of the said Writt
Cometh the said William Clayland by his Attorney afd and the Sher of Somerset County to whom
the foregoeing Writt was directed Likewise Comes and Makes Return thereof to the Court
here Endorsed Cepi Corpus declaration in Time   P Joshua Caldwell sher

    Whereupon the said Patrick Connelly being present herein Court in his proper person at the prayer of the
said William Clayland by his attorney afd is adjudged to give Speciall Bail to the action afd   Thereupon a Certain
William Beavins of Somerset County planter present here in Court in his proper person
Undertook for the said Patrick Connelly and assumed upon himself that if in Case the said William
Clayland Should recover Judgm.t in the plea afd against the said Patrick Connelly or that the
Said Patrick Connelly should be therein Convict that then he the said Patrick Connelly Should
pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or render his body to the Custody of the Sher of
Somerset County in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said William Beavins will do the same
for him &a
                               Whereupon the said Patrick Connelly prays that the said William Clayland may give
Security for Costs in Case nonsuit be Obtained against him in the plea afd which is by the Court Granted    thereupon
William Goldsborough of Somerset County Gent undertakes for the said William Clayland that in Case he be
nonsuited in the plea afd or Otherwise Legally Cost that then the said William Clayland shall pay the Condemnation
of the Court thereupon and all Costs accrewing thereon to the said Patrick Connelly or that he the
said William Goldsborough will do it for him &a

       Whereupon the said Patrick Connelly in his Own proper person Comes and defends the force and
Injury when &a and Says that he Cannot gainsay the action afd of the afd William Clayland nor Can he
say but that the writing Obligatory afd is his deed nor Can he say but that he Owes the same W.m the
afd two thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco in Manner and form as the afd W.m above against
him hath declared  whereupon the same William prays Judgment for his debt afd and his damages sustained
by Occasion of the detaining of the Same debt &a

             Therefore it is Considered that the afd William Clayland Recover against the afd Patrick Connelly
his debt afd and his damages by Occasion of the detaining of the Same debt to four hundred & Eleven
411                                       pounds of tobacco to the Same W.m of his assent by the Court here adjudged
and the afd Patrick Connelly in Mercy &a
