148 bound by the Court hereinto the afd William More untill he arrives at the age of Twenty One Years the said Alexander Tully being ten years of age next august the said Alexander Tully to serve his said Master the full term of time afd during which term the said Allexander Tully his said Master well and faithfully shall serve his secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly shall do and in all things as a good and faithfull Servant shall demeane himselfe towards his said Master and all his during the term afd &a In consideration of which service the said William More present here in Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting on behalfe of the said Alex.d Tully that he the said William More during the term afd will Learn his said apprentice the trade of a weaver and give him one years Schoolling between the date hereof and the time that the said apprentice shall arrive at the age of sixteen years and give him a new Suit of Cloaths at the Expiration of his servitude over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &a Whereupon it Is ordered by the Court here that the afd WIlliam More give Security for to Comply with the Covenants afd Thereupon the said William More with a Certain Jacob Messex of Somerset County planter his Security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to owe unto the afd Alex.d Tully the Sum of twenty pounds sterling of their Severall Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements to be made and Levied to the Use of the Said Alexander Tully his heirs or assignes If it happen that the afd William More do not during the term of Servitude afd Learn his said apprentice the trade of a weaver and do not give him One years Schooling between this & his said apprentice shall arrive at the age of Sixteen Years and do not give him a new Suit of Cloaths at the Expiration of his Comon Servitude Over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and do not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &a
of a Sickly Constitution which hath rendered him uncapable of making tobacco to pay his Leavies by which reason he is now in arrear to the present sherriff three years taxes and hath not any thing whereby he may be able to raise tobacco to Satisfie the Said sherriffe his Just Claim against him and keep your poor petitioner from going to Goal Except he may be helpt by the Charity of his Neighbours wherefore your poor petitioner humbly prays that your worships taking his aged and deplorable Condition into your Consideration will think him an Object of Compassion and Sett him tax free for the future which will be a means to keep him from being a further Burden to the Conty County and your petitioner as in duty bound will pray &a The petition afd being read and heard and fully Understood and mature deliberation thereupon |
